Wow funny how things seem to turn out right in the end - like Phil I've followed your wee story but not actually posted a response - just wanted to say congrats, you deserve the break after what happened
Maybe it'd be worth asking a local friendly farmer to run a plough over the field for the price of his fuel and a few bottles of a good real ale or something... I dunno how that'd help with your planting or even if it'd be worthwhile in a eighth acre but it's a thought.
All the best!

Reason: i'd doubled the size of the field
Been in a flap of excitement all afternoon waiting for five fifteen when I was to meet with landlady to look at field. Got home from Hospital appointment with The Mother to a message postponing meeting till tomorrow. Pooh!
Never mind. The landlady in question is a bit older and has a rotten cold at the moment - and it was tipping it down with rain - so I've cracked open a bottle anyway. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some "Before" shots to post so you can all give me your oppinion as to where I should put stuff.
By the way, said landlady owns a free-range chicken farm and supplies eggs to a lot of local shops - including the bakehouse I work in. Do you think I might be able to collar a "bit" of chicken pooh from her from time to time?
