  • A beautiful still, hot spring morning - the first of the year.
Opening my two bee hives and finding my beautiful green dot queens - one in each hive, both laying. The hives were clean and seemly very healthy - the bees were perfect ladies just softly buzzing around me as I went about my tasks. Happy Girls and a very happy ME!!!
All after that awfully long cold winter (minus12-16)

        • Going into a bakers last night on the way home, and ordering a few different pastry yummies and some bread.
All in Arabic, not a word of French spoken.
I was well chuffed with myself, and was very happy with the girl who served me, who speaks French far better than I ever will, going along with my stumbling Arabic, and helping me when I got stuck.

            • That my sister is taking my 3 kids out for the day, so I get to go to the lottie on my own to plant spuds; no chuntering or whingeing to go home. Bliss.

                        • Sorting loads of stuff out.
                          This morning I've:
                          - Rung the DVLA to let them know I've had an op' (apparently I didn't need to tell them for my operation, but it's done anyway)
                          - Rung my car insurance company to tell them
                          - Rung a plasterer to come and sort some water damage to my kitchen ceiling that's been there for 2 years
                          - Rung a garden landscaping company to get a decking quote for my garden
                          - Rung my step brother to get a similar quote off him for materials.
                          - Ordered a suit off Next

Now I just need to get some other quotes for the plastering and check that "Rung" is in fact the correct passed tense of "Rang"!

Curses! It's because "Spelled" and "Spelt" mean the same thing I can never decide which one to use and then just go and spell anything with a "-t" or and "-ed"

Wish I'd thoughted about it a bit longer
