Walking round the sights of London yesterday with someone who had never even been to England before, and actually realising just how fantastic a city it is, and how many hidden treasures it holds.
I'd never seen the Jewel House before, and I'd worked in London for ages.

Life's disappointments are so much harder to take if you don't know any swear words.
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
Having an almost 3 yr old helper in the garden this afternoon, he followed me about, watered random things and helped shift a load of gravel - me with a big wheelbarrow and him with a diddy one - too cute!
And spending an extra hour or so just with him as big brother is off out for tea at a friend's house. Means he will manage to get a few words in without (well-meaning) big brother taking over
what makes me happy- being with horses, doing anything with them or near them . coming across a beautiful scenery as i drive in the car, walking in woods, finding something i can make beautiful again & sell at a profit... peace and quiet... a good book... the contrast of being out in the weather- struggling with the elements; stormy, wet, windy and cold, and then coming in to snuggle up with a cuddly dog, warm drink, a hot water bottle, and a good book. sea air, water of most varieties always lifts my spirits. luxurious textiles and atmosheric, haunting surroundings always lifts my spirits. feeling attuned to nature and sensing the past in my surroundings. a good ghost story or film, or any decent film that makes you think about it afterwards
