I hadn't realised that, but it's true. I still get an ache, but nothing like the deep, doubling over cramps I used to.

You know, I hadn't thought about that, but I haven't either; and I used to get it really bad. Thrush too ... and no attacks since I started the mooncup.

It's great, I wish I'd discovered it years ago. It paid for itself (£20) in about 9 months.

The only difficulty I have with it is when you're out in public. You need a disabled toilet (for the sink) unless you carry a bottle of water with you.

Well, you learn something new everyday! Never heard of a mooncup before. Not sure I'd have the courage to try it though!

I was a bit squeamish when I started, but you soon get used to it. I had to cut an inch off the stalk (you cut it to fit you), and then it was simples.
It seems a bit, I don't know, primitive maybe, but it is so good I'd recommend you try it.
I got one after researching heavy periods, and there's a theory that pads & tampons make you heavier.

Well, as they say, you learn something new everyday - I admit I had to 'Google' to find out what it was. Amazing. I'm not sure I like the idea, but probably because I'd never even considered such a thing existed. Certainly worth thinking about.

i have one and was using it til the time i needed to head to OZ for a month, and decided it wasnt worth explaining to sis and mum about it etc, so put it in storage with everything else, and its still there 18mths later!!.

i'd recommend it totally....i have alot of pain with tampons/pads, which disappeared with the mooncup, and in reading other forums, there are lots of chemicals in tampons and pads that draw the flow out of you, rather than let you be natural...so to speak.
i'll be reuniting with mine soon, and will be adding reusable pads to the regime as well!.

Hmmm, very interesting indeed. I've had a lot of the symptoms you've all touched on but just assumed it was a lady thing. Although I could never understand why it would make the groin area ache so badly.

My SIL uses one and she swears by it - just says that you need to remember to carry a bottle of water with you at all times during 'that time.

              Does flow matter ?

For those of you with a heavier flow, there's always the moontrug.

I used a mooncup for years on the recommendation of my practice nurse after being diagnosed with Toxic Shock Syndrome, I always used tampon's up to developing T.S.S, so for that reason alone I'd recommend them.

I've popped a link for T.S.S for anyone who would like to find out more of this potentially fatal illness.
