  • How are ya buds folks?????

Go on....have a gentle wander round your garden/lottie and see what's going on with your buds!!!!
I did just that yesterday and was thrilled to see how just a few warm days have brought so many plants to 'bud burst' point!

What plants have you got at this stage?

    here's my list.....

    cherry tree
    2 pear trees
    2 apple trees
    one peach tree
    one blackcurrant
    2 gooseberry
    one blueberry
    a couple of raspberries

    go on- post piccies!!!

I thought this would be a lovely way to 'notice' the end of winter and the beginning of Spring on the Vine

In the jardin, I noticed the Viburnum budding, the Acer and the minature Rose. There are numerous Tulips, Daffs, Grape Hyacinth and 'other' things growing nicely too. Red Hot Pokers, Foxgloves and 'Giant Daisies' (I think) are all looking healthy and raring to go.

I also noticed this morning that my first Daff is blooming. The petals (?) are just starting to unfurl, the bud has burst and Spring is upon us.

            Great thread Nicos.

Haven't been to the allotment for a few weeks.

The blueberries are all in bud, ditto with the honeyberries. Rhubarb is just poking through, as is the sweet cicely. Potato onions and Egyptian Tree Onions are showing some life as well Spring bulbs are no where near flowering, just poking their wee heads above the soil.

Apple, Pear, Plum & Cherry are all in bud as are Blackcurrent, raspberry, gooseberry & I think Redcurrent but can't be sure as I've lost the label so will be a nice surprise.

Well, the Nettles, Goose Grass and Hairy Bittercress are making their usual unwelcome appearance, so it must be Spring!

And, the blimmin Pigeons are 'courting' noisily on the flat roof

                  Rhubarb is up though!

Leaves open on the gooseberries and hawthorns this morning

Blackcurrants, redcurrants and apples all have huge fuzzy buds on the brink of bursting. Ramsons are all growing like mad in the woods, and the daffodils there are about to flower too, although the ones in the garden are just budding.

My blackthorn hedging is about to flower too - creamy buds are getting lovely and big.

Plum has been in flower for about a week now.
Apple is just coming into bud.
