thank-you everyone.....and if anyone is passing ...it should be finished by mid-june (peut etre) tho i am not holdng my breath...as long as its finished before any ban on filling pools comes in! and there may be christening aperitifs.....We are not allowed a blue pool (new rules) it has to be sand coloured! supposedly they blend in with the countryside more ...my neighbours have a blue pool ...all the pools in the area are blue but hey ho...ce n'est pas grave!!!!

Fantastic! What a wonderful way to work off your aches and pains from gardening by a relaxing swim and an aperitif by the pool.

My ex always promised me a swimming pool when we got our own farm. He did intend to make me a proper one but our marriage broke up before we got that far.

He did, however, build a temporary one for myself and our youngest son one really hot summer (yes we have had them occasionally). It was made of straw bales built into a rectangle with a silage liner inside to hold the water.

It was brilliant and worked. The bales kept the water warm overnight and the black liner helped to attract the heat from the sun during the day.

How lovely. Why should you feel guilty for using the land for pleasure. Enjoy your pool and, if neccesary, buy veg. boxes and benefit someone else.

I like the idea of a sand coloured one. Much more in keeping with the countryside!
You can always buy bright blue lilows ( sp??) etc to give you that 'blue water' feeling!

ps- I have 2 paddling pools for our really hot days!!!

            Sacre Bleu! Sacrilege!
Don't worry Jardiniere, I'm just jealous!
At least you'll still have room to grow lovely herbs to reach out & pick to put in your drinks/salads etc.!

Wow, go for it. I can only dream of having anything like that. I have an above ground one in the garden but its not really big enough for properly swimming in. Its like an oversized, cold hot tub lol
