i wasnt impressed with this program at all- garden was so full, you couldnt see anything, no useful advise, which, because i know so little, is quite a feat- i am easily pleased. and in fact, i found it irritating, especially the fact that she committed my pet hate -continually called her 2 chicken "chickenZ" ---the plural of chicken is chicken. you can have 1 chicken, or 20 chicken, in the same way that you can have 1 sheep, or 20 sheep. at least that is how it used to be.

on a fluffier note, i have to admit i like the sophie dahl cookery program- she's very amusing

Not my cup of tea. Bit too much lifestyle fluff for my liking, nothing practical. The dried peas were the highlight, but the comment about why she purchased them.... well.
Excuse me, could we have an eel? You've got eels down your leg.

IMHO - It was a 'coffee table' program.....lots of pretty pictures and if nothing much else - inspiring (which is great) but in a strange way I still quite liked it - a pretty little tale of someone growing veg and flowers in their little garden! ....... HOWEVER......
Why can the BBC not make a decent 'growing' program ????
granted we need and must have beginners programs, but what about something for those who have a little/lot more experience - Do we not want to learn more just because we have been growing for a while????? Come on BBC - WAKE UP!!!!!
Give us something to get our teeth /trowels into for goodness sake!
Geoff, Monty and Co please come and save us.

Well I never knew that...good job I keep chooks and not chicken
G$ has already made the point I was going to make about preferably always having three or more, the other thing that let me down a little is how Alys normally goes the whole hog with making new from old yet had what seemed to be a pristine/purpose built chook house....would have liked to have seen her modifying something to house them in.
Other than that,I agree with Wayne...easy watching and a few little bits of inspiration popped in for good measure.

A while back we were all(a lot of us)moaning about how overly simple and at times patronising GW has become...now Alys isn't showing us how deep to plant a Broad Bean???
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

whoever said it was coffee table telly i think thats a brillant quote and will be passing it off as my own soon.

Will watch it again but if it ran against river cottage or heston then i'd watch them instead.

A bit too fluffy for my liking all style and no substance, although I did like the tip about dry peas.

                  I prefer Christin Walkden.
                  Down to earth, chatty, normal.
                  She gives good advice .

                    Hi

                    Who gardens in a dress???

I thought it passed half an hour, nothing new or informative about the show. Bring back Alan Titchmarsh & Monty Don
                    Bye

I'm growing my veg in with my flowers so I thought there would be useful/practical tips and was a bit disappointed.

not seen it yet, but if Isabelle is half as cool as Chalkie. I'll happily watch the series just for her

She peed somewhere (not specified where) that she shouldn't have done, so it looks hopeful.

I like the way Isabelle sat demurely in the bicycle basket.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I liked it although the arty camera work drove me a bit mad.

I thought the weaving and the dried peas were good ideas.
It was nice for a bit of inspiration for those of us that want our vegetable gardens to look a bit more natural and garden like rather than the normal allotment style of growing that's normally shown.

Just a shame it was so over-produced
