I don't watch Gardener's World, don't know much about her and have only seen her as a guest on The Wright Stuff so I'll definitely give the show a go. I also bought the book with a gift voucher I was given... it arrived today, haven't looked at it yet.

Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to Sky+ it though so I can watch it in peace sometime!

You sure Piskie? On my sky guide it says bbc 2 scotland is showing Alys - shame I was going to record one and watch the other.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

About the only useful thing was germinating dried peas. Oh and the fact that she made some weird organic structure from coppiced willow.

It's like Sophie Dahl does gardening, bit of fluff easy on the eye but nothing useful. Can't believe how she winced when he snipped the flight feathers.

Well, cat and I enjoyed that. Cat liked the bits featuring her dog and I liked the way she mingles all the plants up. Chooks too!

                      just watched Alys...

I didnt like the 'arty' camera angles and effects.

Having said that, I'll still watch the other episodes because its gardening.

So what did everyone think? For me it was a triumph of style over substance, I guess I was hoping for something more practical. Having said that I'll probably end up watching the whole series just to see what she's got to say, after all, it's only half an hour a week.

What a load of old rubbish, not one useful thing in the whole program total waste of time.
I wont be rushing home to watch it next week

                          All the best,Ian

I thought it was okay... her garden is nice enough and the pea shoots bit was interesting as I recently decided to try growing those. I used regular pea seeds though. I think I'm gonna keep watching the series.

I know what you mean, I've caught a bit of the Sophie Dahl thing, only coz it's on after GYOD, and it's like Nigella but worse.
