I think it's the slow, patronising delivery Miffy.
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Yes it is like when people talk over you as a child and ask your mum questions about you when you are sitting right there. Monty never did that, he loved his plants, garden and it was like you were taken on that journey with you and he encourged you to have a go and try out your own ideas.
Has Monty got a gardening son or daughter? Bit like Dick Strawbridge and his lad, Monty's son or daughter could do the heavy stuff and Monty could impart his knowledge that would be fab.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown

Monty does have a family; not sure how much they are into following in dad's footsteps though. I really hope he will do a 'special' for GW, but can't see him returning as a regular presenter unfortunately
Really great gardens seem to teeter on the edge of anarchy yet have a balance and poise that seem inevitable. Monty Don in Gardening Mad

I actually thought that Friday's wasn't as bad as some episodes. They did at least try to explain how to make compost - OK so it wasn't very helpful to somebody who hadn't done it before or useful to somebody more experienced but they did try and it was better than the bog garden which just seem to be an excuse for more close ups of those stupid boots!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
