Does any grape have a foolproof method of remembering their password. I thought I did but have failed miserably. My son came up from Hampshire this weekend and decided to kindly sort out my computer. He bought me an external hard drive and put things here and there !!!!!!!! When I went to log on this morning he has changed me to google chrome and so my opening was really different I just used yahoo before, where I had my favourites. That no longer exists and when I tried to get onto the vine I couldn't remember my password, which I thought I had somewhere on the computer. I've had 2 goes but failed miserably. Luckily I am logged in on my laptop which is safe so far but I feel it might not be for too long,he's bound to kindly sort it for me. Not sure how long he's staying and don't like to ask because he is being sooooo helpful. I did ask when he started teaching agaain but that is another week!!!!!! Help.

Right click on you desktop
Select "New", then "Text Document"
Rename the document that's created to "Vine.txt"
Double click on "Vine.txt"
Type in your password
Select "File", then "Save"
BTW, I wouldn't advise doing this with your online banking passwords or anything else that is sensitiveThere are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't.

I tend to use the same passwords for forums (usually family names) and for everything else, a combination of friend's name + postcode or phone number. I change them around every other month. All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

It isn't very security conscious to have one login name and one password for everything. It is also not a good idea to get your browser to remember login details for you, because you will forget them. Then, when (that's when, not if) your hard drive or motherboard dies and you have to re-install everything, you'll find you've lost all the details. If your Lappy gets stolen, the new 'owner' gets access to your life!
Keep a record of your login names and passwords. Keep a copy on your hard drive, password the document, you only need to remember that one password. Also keep a separate copy on your backup disc/memory card(s)/whatever, along with all your other important documents and pictures.
