Not now that I have a freezer - I freeze in one portion servings

Otherwise, just be really disciplined with how many carbs you cook, and have lots of salad/veggies

        • I batch cook at the weekends, then I have home made ready meals in the freezer for the week - skinny bolognase & skinny lamb goulash are my favourites at the mo.

I do struggle with portion size with stir fries, though! By the time you've put in a 1/4 onion, 1/4 red pepper, 1/4 green pepper, chopped up carrot, handful mushrooms, handful peas, handful (anything else you have in the fridge), small portion strips of beef/chicken/duck, serve with noodles - it's a massive plateful! And as a meat eater, I tend to think veg = good = doesn't really count.

On a separate note, went out for dinner to the local Harvester this evening - they've started putting calories against all of the items on the menu - brilliant!

                  • I bought a pair of moleskins(trousers) 32" waist from M&S yesterday (in their sale) which are a fraction too small so I need to loose a little more yet.(about half an inch.)
A size 34 are too big.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

                      Breakfast: mini shreddied wheat
Lunch: tapas at La Tasca - meal for 2 between 3, coffee & sweet
Dinner: tuna mayo bagette from Upper Crust, 3 pack jaffa cake
                      3 x half pt lager

Exercise: walking about a hundred miles at speed above and below London. (note to self: check map scale before deciding that a distance of 3" 'would be quicker to walk than get the tube' )

                          • It's lent, no alcohol, no coffee, and no choccy-bars (drinking chocolate would be allowed, but rarely). Hoping this helps the diet.....

Had no alcohol or choccy biscuits since new year or any sugar for that matter too.

If you can give something up for lent you can give it up..............FULL STOP.

Yeah, but that wasn't the idea! I have no wish to abandon coffee, wine and chocolate forever, I just want to exercise the mental discipline of going without them for 40 days.
