      • version 2 of my reduced-calorie cake, better, but still needs work (it's nice, but I want to try another variation that might make it better).

There are diets that work by unbalancing your food (eg Atkins) but all others that really work DO rely on reduced calorie intake, it's just that some of them do it indirectly, eg meal plans.

                    • Hazel, you have tonsilitis, Hon.

Have to say, if I only ate what you eat in a day, I would have starved to death within a week! You must be tiny, or is 1 egg a Goose egg and 1 bread a loaf? I eat a week's worth of your diet in about two days...

                      That's obviously why I'm fat!

When my throat still felt manky on Thursday I dithered about making an appt at the doctors - and on Friday there didn't seem to be any point as I wouldn't get an appt till Mon/Tues when I'd likely be feeling better anyway. Feel a bit better today, see how I feel in the morning.

You're half right, G4 - if I ate what I do, but DID as much as you do, I would drop dead in a week!

But you burn off about a million calories more in a day than I do sitting on my bum in my home office! I've mastered the 'eat less' part of losing weight, but not the 'do more' part...

LOL! I'm not that energetic, but I am a big eater. Incidentally, my cure for tonsillitis is a hot toddy! (Brandy/Whisky, hot water and Honey + some Vit. C too ) I've only once had treatment for it, as I didn't know what it was back then!

                          Hope you feel better soonest!

                          • A good week (cereal, salads, soups) but a gluttonous weekend (huge pub lunch, wine, G&Ts, Maltesers etc) and not much exercise, just a few hours weeding. No cycling, far too windy
Mr TS is sliding off his healthy plan: his portions are getting bigger, there's less veg, less water and more alcohol. He's due to get his first band tightening this week, so he's making the most of his larger stomach until then
