  • My weight seems to have stabilized at 13 st 3 lb. Hoping it won't go up too much during May (including Vinstock) and starts going down again after that.

He's not doing so good. His first band tightening didn't seem to have any effect, so he's not losing any weight. He's gone back to his bad old habits, eating whatever he wants, however much he wants

He's got a 2nd tightening tomorrow so hopefully it will work this time

                  • That's a shame TS, hope the tightening tomorrow has some effect.

                    • Oh yes, it's had some effect alright. It was done y'day morning. He got his lunchtime soup down OK, but his evening meal (lumpier soup) got stuck and he had to throw it back up

Same thing happened today. He's now just managed to get his dinner down (tuna, cottage cheese) but it took him half an hour. This is normal now though: that's exactly how he needs to eat: a starter size portion, eaten over about 20 mins

I predict a half stone loss this week

                      • It's a very drastic measure TS, I'm surprised at how quickly he lapsed back into his old ways. Do you think he will keep the weight off once he reaches his goal?

I'm not. He's got that classic dieter's mentality of "I was good yesterday, so I can pig out today"
He doesn't see that every meal now has to be different. Now the band is tight, he will have to eat like this every meal: small, liquid, and slow.

                            • Wow, two sheds. Sounds like he has a lot of hard work to put in. Is a gastric band a Permenant thing then? What will happen when he has the band removed then?

I think I am doing ok, i weighed myself earlier and have lost 3kg which is good. I keep having really good phases then having a bad day, it usually coincides with either pain or anxiety which seem to trigger my insatiable hunger, when I am not in pain or anxious (like yesterday) I can happily eat lighter meals. Strange, but something I am trying to sort out in CBT and pain therapy.

                              Today I had:

Fruit & fibre, strawberries and soy milk
                              Tofu salad
Veggie chilli with salad instead of rice
                              Some vanilla coated seeds
                              Handful of grapes
                              Handful of Japanese rice crackers

Sounds like a lot but I'm quite big and was very active today. Hope you're all doing well!

                              • Hope he's not making your life any more difficult than usual TS and I really hope he's lost a good lot of weight since the tightening.

Just read on the other weight thread that Tammy lost 3lb in her first week at WW, brilliant!

I still haven't got my act together, but I will at some point.
