What's that Mr Micawber quote; "Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds, nineteen shillings and sixpence, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery!"
So, I'm the first. Of many I wonder? Weight loss plan starts again tomorrow, though it's not a cunning one, just to eat less and keep up with my mates on MWP.
Not totally sure, but I think I need to lose between four and six pounds. Doesn't sound a lot but weight loss is always a challenge with hypothyroidism. That was the very best thing about 2012 - losing two and a half stone - so I'm determined not to put it all back on again. Even four pounds makes a difference to the way clothes fit etc.
Today my low carb menu has been; Two coffees with cream. Lunch: Home baked ham sandwich on two slice of Burgen bread with unsalted butter and French mustard, Dinner: seven wholemeal crackers with shedloads of cream cheese and slices of Wensleydale topped with homemade tomato & mint chutney with a glass of Hock. That was followed by Asda toffee ripple icecream and double cream.
About 70g cards in total, to which I'm about to add a last coffee...so maybe 73g in total.
Who says diets have to be boring?

Coffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?

Well, several false starts and my New Year starts again today! It has been so hard with all the temptations over the Christmas period, but I've "set my stall out" today. Not looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow, but it has to be done. Good luck to all of us and Happy Healthy Eating.
I have put on 1/2 stone over Christmas and New Year. I go on holiday in 6 weeks, Aaargh.
Back on the low carb today.
Breakfast - Slice bacon, fried egg, mushroom - all dry fried - cup tea with dash milk
Lunch - Smoked salmon and brie salad, boiled egg - peppermint tea
Tea - Mince and small amount of tatties. 1 Orange, cup of tea with dash milk
Exercise - walk to work (1.5 miles each way) 40 mins total
Lunchtime walk - 20 mins
Evening Dog walk - 20 mins
Twists and Bends - 5 mins
The weigh in this morning has confirmed my resolve, I hope. Four pounds on over Christmas, even though I had what I think was Norovirus and would therefore have lost a few pounds. I think subconsciously I must have been making up for what I'd missed! Nipping over the the Rant Thread now.
Well done ad, I've seen some good reports about it, but I'm not sure I could do the lean days.
Thanks!
40g porridge made with water and a splash of skimmed milk for brekky.
So far I have been making a veg soup or salad for other meals. No snacking isn't a problem as my will power can last a day. Its a challenge mainly cos I've never worried about calories in veg before when I've dieted.
I'm doing the 5:2 diet. Lost 2 kg last week. Weigh in Wednesday. If I don't post here its cos I've put on weight!
A friend told me about this as we were out having a curry over Christmas.
I weighed myself yesterday after having put my head determinedly in the sand over the past 3-4 weeks. 9 stone 6lbs ..... aaargghhh! Mind you we had a wonderful Christmas in all sorts of ways. So, I'm going to give the 5:2 diet a go too.
