No idea Jules, my dog borders on skinny!!, he's a 7 month Springer Spanial and very lovely. Here he's been tucked in by DD.

I've tried a lot of diets over the years High carb, High protein, low fat, low cholesterol and they've all failed because they all require me to change my eating habits, and I can do it for a time, but eventually I revert to type. I believe we have a chip in our heads that tell us when to eat and when to stop. You can control it for a while but you can't remove it. As a non smoker I can only assume its like smoking, something constantly nagging you, eat, your not full.
This sounds very pessimistic I know, but sometimes accepting what we are is harder I'm sure. When I was around 20, I got down to what the statisticians would call 'normal' for my height and frame, to get there I had been running 13 miles a day for a little over a year.
I can't do that anymore I have too much metalwork in my legs, but walking is ok and having the dog is great. What I need to do is create a bit more balance in my eating which is a lot harder now I work from home than when I went out to work. I'm sure I'll find a balance for my body in a month or two but at the moment I'm not there and the constant craving is a pain.
I think a food diary would probably help, I think I'll start one tomorrow.

We also had a collie/spaniel cross as kids - she was a true nutter!
Although the collie I have now took 10 years to calm down. Really full of energy. Your springer looks lovely, my brother alway keep springers. The one he has now always digs up my flower bulbs!!!
I think I will use online shopping again as you add stuff to the basket
1. You can see what your spending.
2. You can edit basket before you checkout.
3. I usually impulse buy at a supermarket as I've usually got kids with me.
So my shop came this morning with fruit veg meat not a sweet in sight or a packet of crisps.
I have actually lost some weight this week. Well I'm blowed. Ok, it was only 5lb, but still
I lost 2st last year but both times it was about 6 to 8 weeks after my hypothyroid meds were increased. Since then, I've only ever put it on, losing it seemed impossible. But then, the Ice Cream Season was long this year
Anyway, Happy Days
PS I've just had a mince pie to celebrate.......shhhhhhh!
Jules
Coffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?
