        • He has a meal planner sheet, but it says Slimfast for lunch. He started playing up because he doesn't like them, so I typed out a new sheet with different options, eg cup a soup & melba toast & apple.
So then he starts asking if he can have a takeout soup or a MacD salad instead - no, because you don't know how much fat and how many cals are in them. Stick to the sheet that the doctor gave you!

              • Weight always goes quickly at the start of a diet (which is just as well, it provides an incentive to keep going!). Once you are genuinely down to usng up FAT, it gets harder!

Not at all, he doesn't listen to me. He's been given a diet sheet by the doctor, it's extremely strict: last night I heard him going through the fridge & cupboards after I'd gone to bed. He definitely had an ice lolly, Polos & a tub of cherry tomatoes on top of his day's food, not sure what else.

He just won't be told what to do, he thinks it's clever to cheat, or it doesn't matter...? It'll be toms today, cheese tomorrow and then back where he started

                      • Oh dear I fell off the wagon yesterday, in laws came for lunch so we had Quorn roast, roast potatoes, yorkshire puds, swede, carrots, broccoli and cauli. Followed by Apple strudell and single cream. I dont do puddings unless someone comes for lunch.
Think I'll get some slimfast in to try.

                          • So far today I have had two pieces of toast for brekkie.
                            Walked into town.
Had three crackerbread and philly with grapes and dried apricots.
                            Piece of ww carrot cake.
Went to lottie and walked around then decided to go for a walk around nearby lake, 3/4 of a mile should take 20mins, I did it in 10 as I am a fast walker.
Will do that again and maybe do one of the other routes. Fen 1 3/4 miles, moderate 40 mins,Woodland 2 miles strenuous 60mins. You can combine all three or I could walk from lottie and add 5 mins onto it.
Came home had a cup of tea and a banana

                            • OK I am opting out of the whole losing weight thing for the time being. Life is spectacularly hard right now and my way to deal with that is food. No I haven't got an eating dosorder, (yet) but a diet is just a bit too much right now.
Best of luck everyone. I will be back when life settles down
