Even better, of course, a non-edible treat (given that on this thread an edible treat is rather counterproductive!

Wilko's are full of choc-bar-value treats that don't pile on the pounds - they're in the seed-packet aisle! For the non growers, choc-bar-value treats are also to be found in Boots on the make-up counter.

There's no veg at all in the first stage, as I remember. Get a book from the lib Jelliebabe. I prefer low GI diets to the full Atkins, you can have a greater selection of foods. I got the Rosemary Conley GI Jeans diet for 90p 2nd hand

I know, I know. There was nothing non-edible that took my fancy - no I lie, I picked up 3 bright pink storage boxes for the Smartie. I don't like chocolate or ice cream, apparently that makes me not normal
I'm OK today, back on track.
I was exhausted, cold & in pain - it's hard to know how much is "too much" when it comes to exercise/working. I've done 3 afternoons of pruning school's monster buddlejas. It felt fine at the time, but was too much

            • As far as I can recall from when I was doing it, the first 2 weeks of Atkins, a minimal amount of salad stuff (I think he means leaves), any amount of carnivore-food (as long as it doesn't contain ANY carbohydrates) and drink loads of water.
After 2 weeks you can add a bit more green veg, and either 1 slice of wholemeal bread or 1 fruit (limited list, no avocados or bananas) per day.

I prefer the 'New High Protein Diet' which allows an orange (or vit C pills and some other fruit) 1 slice of wholemeal bread, as much green veg as you like, and the full range of carb-free carnivore-food.

At the moment I am doing a calorie-counted (but having checked things early on, now estimating) diet. It seems to be working fairly well, as long as I don't get too tempted!

              • We had a 40th birthday buffet at school today, I stayed away from the cheese & crisps and limited myself to 3 bits of cake

                • I've been eating so much since I started back at work and since I got back off holiday. The cold and miserable winter in the UK has blessed me with a never ending appetite, when I was out in Asia you barely eat and when you do ,its delicious and healthy. Plus I'm on inhaled steroids for asthma and I get really hungry on them, even though I have already eaten.

Today I've had a bowl of fruit and fibre with soy milk, 2 wholemeal toast with marmite, hummous, salad and felafel sandwich, grapes, packet of crisps, a few dates..cant stop eating!!!

I've been doing a lot of walking (at least 4 miles a day) yesterday I did about 15 miles)(took 4 hours) so it's not just about food intake

My breakfast is a portion of bran flakes with a slack hand full of blue berries(semi skimmed milk)
Medium glass of tomato juice with Worcestershire sauce
Mug of coffee (semi skimmed milk) one sweetener.

"If" I have beans for lunch I only have half a tin with "ONE" slice of toast.
                          I have cut out:
                          Bacon butties
                          Sugar
                          Cheese & biscuits(for supper)
                          Chocolate biscuits (at any time)
                          BEER(at any time.)

Think you may be right BW! That extra half tin of beans and a rather large portion of curry last night have contributed to me losing no weight this week with two days until weigh in!
