Keep up the good work FF - It can rather take over cant it. I am going to try and avoid this by working out a whole weeks menu - then not thinking about it but just doing it! We will see if this helps!

That's helped Mr TS, who's lost a stone in a fortnight. I make him up 7 packed lunches so he can just take one without dithering about what to eat or how much
(he has an apple, a soup, a pack of melba toast and a yog every day: different flavours for variety)

            • Try the substitution trick. Work out a lower-calorie substitute for all the things you eat often, then just put in the substitute, and stop worrying about details!
We have tended to eat large portions of rice with any meal it can accompany. These days we eat half the rice and replace the rest with a stirfry of veg (often a supermarket one, but home-combined are nicer). The same trick works with pasta.
We have half the boiled potatoes, and add carrots instead.
Use a smaller plate, you will feel satisfied after a smaller portion.
The best trick of all is to always eat slowly and enjoy every mouthful. It's amazing how much less you actually WANT to eat if you take the time to relish each and every one! Refuse to eat 'on the go', stop and make a meal of it!

                      • I've been too busy to eat, ferrying the patient around and shopping for his new diet sheet.

I've eaten small handful of Crunchy Nut, a bowl of porridge and a jkt spud & beans. I don't feel hungry either.
Also jogged the dog for a mile, in the rain
