            Haha! I wish!

Am getting mighty bored with all this, I must say - I'd fight anyone for a bloody great big fry up right now!

            • OK, I'm getting back on the Horse. No Carbs today, so far, so may as well call this day one. Had meat and cheese today, so a carb-free dinner should help kick-start me.

Why do I now have a craving for CAAAAAKE!

                • The biggest snag with the no-carb diets is you hardly get started before the carb-cravings kick in! Until I tried to do Atkins, I only ate carbs 'because you do', but once I got started, I wanted bread, spuds......
I did better on 'The New High Protein Diet', which doesn't restrict green veg at all (carrots and green beans are borderline) and allows 1 thin slice wholemeal bread and 1 orange (or other fruit if taking vit C tablets) per day. The rest is all meat/cheese/eggs.
Right now I am sticking to a calorie controlled plan (although not really counting, just avoiding high calorie stuff, and got a pretty good idea how much I can have of the medium calorie foods).

Same here, more or less - I know the approx 'value' of things, and know that if I have brekkers, lunch. dinner at 200, 300 & 400 cals respectively, there is latitude in there for the odd pint of beer (or homemade rhubarb crumble & icecream!)

Your body (which includes those thighs, you know) is wrong - gargling with TCP will not only stop your throat feeling sore, it also has the advantage that it makes everything taste so vile, you won't want the party rings.

Seriously - hope you feel better soon - lots of liquids, paracetamal and sleep.
