Yes, it stays in forever. It can be adjusted as and when (£200 each time) you like - tighter to lose weight, looser to eat more variety of foods.

He lost 8lb this week He's not hungry either, he's just got to get his head round eating baby food

      • His weight loss has slowed and he's hovering around 118 kg, sometimes more sometimes less, despite cycling about 20 miles most weekends. He's lost a stone and a half this year.

His problem is late night cereal attacks: he thinks cereal is healthy so a free-for-all. Nagging wasn't helping, so I measured it out for him and showed him the calories: he's actually been having 4 portions at a time (on top of his daily food allowance).
He was angry with me at the time, but he's finally now having sensible portions

He's now able to get into some of the clothes he's bought that he thinks are too small for him ~ I managed to convince him that fitted tops are more flattering than tents

          • He's just been to the nurse about his cholesterol/weight ~ he's lost 2 stone, but his cholesterol has gone up !
He's got to see a specialist next week. He's not happy. (update: doctor said not to worry, as his weight loss is going well and the cholesterol should come down without statins)

              • I was full of good intentions at the start of the year! However, 4 weeks ago I admitted 'defeat' and joined Slimming World. I was unable to get into the skirt of my blue suit for work (had not worn it for a while!) ... well I could get into it, I just could not have sat down, which would have made driving inconvenient! So, I have lost 6 pounds and am now at least 8 stone something, but the next week is going to be tough. Let's all enjoy Christmas but I am certainly going to try and not 'over indulge'. Trouble is - I love my grub! I think most of us on here do - otherwise why would we bother to grow good food with lots of taste?

                • I'm afraid my road to hell is paved with good intentions and loads of lovely food. We'll see.

Just weighed in: 58.2kg. And that's before all the roast spuds, ginger wine and Xmas Bakewells

I had to open Excel to work that out! Don't do 'new money'. But how tall are you? I'm 5'2" with a kick up the ar$e .... so that would be disastrous for me! It might be just right for you.

My mince pies this year are so good - pastry made with butter and lard, luxury home made mince meat. Major, major error!

                          • 1/2 stone over what I want to be. I'll do Atkins in the new year and knock that off in a fortnight (hopefully!)

                              • I couldn't hack it last year, makes me wonder whether it's worth a try this year. Himself is going to give it a try, the irony is he doesn't need to lose weight, he's just decided to eat less rubbish. I don't eat rubbish.
