  • Just be happy in your skin - whatever size or shape it is. Eat sensibly and keep moving and the rest will take care of itself. I was never meant to be slim, been there, life was a constant diet - where's the pleasure in that? Now I just eat what I want and don't worry about anything.

I'm sorry TS if you read my comments as criticism. It wasn't meant to be at all. Its just that I spent a lot of my younger years trying to be a size that I wasn't meant to be - and that was size 12. I'm only 5'2". I was a real misery because I kept thinking I can't eat that because its fattening etc. Now that I''ve stopped thinking about food all the time, my weight has stabilised around the 14-16 mark and I'm happy with that. I can still wear jeans - just a bigger size!!
Good luck to all those of you who want to lose weight though. I wish you every success!

I was a bit tetchy, yes. I am utterly fed lately up of people telling me what I should eat, what I shouldn't, when and how much (I'm the only vegetarian in the village)

                • I'll be back 'at it' after the 'unsuitable food' has all gone. I'm now at a yard populated by stick thin riders, making me look far chunkier than I would like. The only advantages I have over these eight-stone weaklings is that I can lift their hay bales for them, and I'm not always cold - the fat layer does have a use this time of year!

TS, I gave up eating meat over 20 years ago. People still try to tell me what I should be eating. You can probably guess my reply.
We're all individuals and should be able to live our lives in whatever way we choose. If we all looked the same, ate the same and wore the same, the world would be a very boring place. I'd like to be remembered as a bit of an eccentric - my neighbours think I am already!!

                          • I'll just lurk as I know I really need to shift some serious pounds (weight gain since being on meds 33lbs) My weight was last checked in May last year and I'll be on these meds until at the least this coming May. So my ass could go from the size of a small country to the size of a ruddy continent. Trouser button popped yesterday and my knees are shot. So.... Mr Frosty and I changing our eating habits, just ordered in HFW Veggie book for ideas. Both of us are scunnered of eating meat. More importantly no more cakes or biccies at home (we both have a sweet tooth). Good luck to everyone.

                            • Right, the new eating plan starts tomorrow! Just had to finish up some cake today, to make sure that there are fewer temptations around.

No doubt there will be loads of stuff at work tomorrow, everyone brings in their left over calorific things to make some one else eat it up. But I will be strong.............
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.

                              • That happens where I work too. There'll be all sorts of goodies in the kitchen so my road to hell had better be full of good intentions.
