  • Got no comfrey oil, only a,i understand how you feel, stop thinking of it as fall of the wagon,if your head is not in the right place,it will never work, apparently having your main meal at lunch time is better,as you have more time to burn of,i myself have gone through all the grrrr stuff about what i look and feel like, what makes it worse is,it's in my own control, some days is good, then the odd ones are bad, eventually it will be mostly good,a slower lose is better, have a look on MFP,am there to,lets see if we can inspire each other,

      • Had my obligatory NHS OAP checkup last November ..

The bad news is I am 65.

The good news : BMI 23.. No need to diet .

The later bad news: Before Christmas I damaged a achilles tendon, can't run and now need to diet..

This is the joy of the 5:2 thing. 5 days you can eat normally. 2 days you have limited calories. I'm finding that really easy (I love veggie soups and they can be low calorie) but my OH is finding it harder.

That's about it. If you an use a calorie counter and your imagination you don't need to buy anything special.

                • I stopped eating pastry and reduced my chocolate and cheese intake...lost 3" from my waist in 6 months! Yay, I can see my abs again.
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

                    • Good idea LD, wish I'd read that before I ate the cake. I wouldn't mind, but I don't eat cake at home and I used to take any cake offered and then give it away to the sweet young medics who cycle to and from work. I've got to find Percy somewhere, he's evading me along with Will.

As a successful participant from earlier in the thread, I think that I am qualified to do the swift kick - along with the carrot bit too, of course.

I also do a good line in 'well, it is a bit disappointing', and 'don't worry, I'm sure you did your best', if you really want to feel bad.

That tip on baking a cake then cutting and freezing the slices is a corker, btw - because however much you want caaaaaaaaaaaaake, it is an hour's defrost away - by which time, you've rummaged around the back of the settee and found your will power again.

That or you've eaten frozen cake.

                              • Still no weight lost but I have been exercising as much as I can, so I tell myself that for every cc of muscle gained I have lost 3 ccs of fat. Hope that in the next couple of weeks the balance will tip as I reach optimum muscle for the exercise and then just switch to losing fat. I seem to be developing indentations where I had outdentations before, so that's a good sign.
