No,they are not violent, now you have them, put them to work when you wish, you could make 2 little men out of paper, and stick em,1 on the outside of the cupboard, and 1 in,even clone them for other parts of the kitchen, when you look at a peice of food and think mmmm, say to yourself,no loose, just gain, look for analternaitive repacement, and if you still cannot resist, chew it and spit it out,at least your tase buds will have had a ticke, and no,i have not done it myself,

That tip on baking a cake then cutting and freezing the slices is a corker, btw - because however much you want caaaaaaaaaaaaake, it is an hour's defrost away - by which time, you've rummaged around the back of the settee and found your will power again.

That or you've eaten frozen cake.
have done that one in the past, and not wanting to loose weight, but my fancy got the better of me, now got my head out the porn shop, the one with some brains floating around,

      • I found that because the pangs of feeling hungry and feeling thirsty are so similar, it is easy to confuse the two and so have something to eat. But if I have a cup of tea instead (or first off), chances are that will have filled the gap, and won't want anything to eat.

        • Well I have tried the 5:2 thing for the last 2 weeks and have lost 4.25 pounds - and we went out for a balti on Saturday AND I ate half a naan bread!! Today is a hungry day, so I am posting this to distract me from wanting to eat. It has not been too tough so will keep plugging away. If I can lose 1 pound per week I will be quite happy with that.

            • Good Luck Acanthus and well done susie. I'm failing spectacularly, so I'm going to have a good think this weekend about what I really want to do. As I've said before, it doesn't help that most people tell me I don't need to lose weight!

I know exactly what you mean. I am 'only' 10-12 pounds overweight, but it is enough to make my clothes a bit snug and to make me feel awkward about getting my kit off!

                • Exactly susie. The problem with me is that the extra weight is concentrated in one place. I can disguise it very well, so I do look as slim as I always have been! I'm at a place in my life now where I wonder if I should just relax and let nature take its course. I sometimes think if I stopped worrying about it, I would lose some weight, or is that wishful thinking?

I can assure your from bitter experience that "relaxing and letting nature take its course" is in the end very unpleasant. You end up feeling guilty and having to undo the results.

It's better in the long run to keep trying , however painful it may be at the time..

                    • Thanks for that, I'll add it to the pros and cons list I've got in my head. I'm sorry you've had a bitter experience and I hope that you are ok. I have no intention of putting on more weight, but I suppose it could happen unintentionally if I stop trying.

                          • Just done another batch wb. I love it too, but it can get a bit boring if you're having it every day. It's handy for work and for when I lose the plot with the dieting, which I do, a lot.
