Inspired by a conversation on another thread, I thought I'd start a pacific thread on the subject.
As a kid we'd use various flora/fauna to amuse ourselves (who says you need PS3's and EggsBoxes).
Here are some I can remember;
Using rose thorns to make yourself into a rhinoceros.
Snap the rose thorn off the stem, lick the flat bit and stick it on your nose - instant rhinoplasty.
Grass darts.
Not sure what type of grass, but used to see it all the time as a kid. You take off the seed bit at the top and you could throw them like a dart - bonus scores if it sticks on your mates' clothing.
Stickbud tag.
Again not sure of the plant, but it's that one that sticks to everything and has little 'balls' on it. Points for each sticky bud you get to stick from a handful.
Weed catapult.
There's a theme here. Not sure what the plant/weed is called, but again, used to find it on the playing fields all the time. Looks like a little bull rush. You pick the stem with the 'bobble' on the end, wrap the stem over and run it up toward the bobble and the bobble would 'shoot' off.
Grass whistles.
Good for what I now know as couch grass. Take a blade of grass and hold it between your thumbs (side by side) with the blade of grass flat between them. Then cup your hands and blow between your thumbs. It requires some practise, but you should get a high pitched 'whistle' or at least a duck like noise.

Rose hip itching powder. Find some rose hips, split them open and use the seeds/fluff as itching powder.
Snapdragon hand puppets.
I think it's snapdragon anyway. You take the flower head and give it a slight squeeze and hey presto - a little flowery friend. Add the voice of your choice.
