does your cat have?

Some of my FB friends will already know this but my cat went through the washing machine cycle today for about 10 mins or so til I heard her yowling and we managed to get her out. I feel really bad for not checking there was a cat in there before squashing all the clothes it and turning it on. Luckily we use eco washing stuff which the vets said is kinder. She has been in the vet all day with water in her lung and being checked for shock etc.... But she is on her way home now.
I put the washer on, fed the other cats, went down the garden, fed the chooks, watered the greenhouse, pottered about for a few mins as you do.... came back up and then found her screaming and going round and round. Luckily it's a cold fill machine and it was a low temp wash. We had to wait til the door would open but thankfully we got her out and she was shaking like a leaf and yowlijg her head off. Even her sister who normally hates her came and gave her a good sniff! Thank Goodness I hadn't switched the machine on and then left to go out for the day.

She will defo be allowed on my lap tonight with no complaining from me.

I am going to have a stiff drink later, purely for medicinal purposes you understand!

Vet said it's common for kittens to get in there and be washed but my cat is 9 and really should know better!

What a shock Jane. I can just imagine the scenarios you went through before she/he emerged and gave you a right telling orf. You had better watch her in future she/he might of enjoyed it. Anyway, jokes aside I do hope all is well.

Hope she is ok now. I lost my son aged about 3 ish and quite large, couldnt find him anywhere, If asked if he wanted sweets yes came the answer, where are you, nothing not a peep, if I was upstairs it sounded like he was downsatirs and vice versa. A neighbour knocked on the door and I bawled I cant find him anywhere but he is here somewhere, with that a little head popped out........ of the Tumble dryer first place I looked after that. How on earth he got in I have no idea, he had to come out head first so I guess he went in feet first.

I shall certainly be checking the machine next time.
She does like to sleep in some daft places.
She is asleep on my son's bed, special treat. She smells great and is all soft and fluffy. She is zonked though, I guess it's the shock.

I still feel sick thinking about what could have happened.

I've only ever heard stories - never actually known someone to do it!!

I dont know how many lives my cat has left but she must have started out with more than 9 I think.
She has been in more fights with other cats than I can count, I only know she has had them because of the scabby bits that come out of her coat when I stroke her.
I have seen her kicked by lovely ex neighbours on 2 occasions.
She was pushed off the upper floor maisonette landing where we used to live by next door's delightful nephew.
She was shot by some charming young citizens and left for dead but managed to drag herself home (4 days she was missing) and on that occasion lost half her tail and an eye and her leg was so badly damaged that she needed to have bone removed and a pin inserted which left her with one leg shorter than the other.

Surprisingly she still goes outdoors and I still always pray that she comes back safely.

Your status the other morning did make me laugh - but very relieved Puss is ok

My cat has more than 9 lives too I reckon.
At 12 weeks she was mauled by our ex-neighbour's German Shepherd. Amazingly she survived, but we think there is some degree of brain damage as a result (one of the dogs teeth went through her skull - nearly popped one of her eyes right out).
When she sleeps, she can twitch so violently that she falls off whatever she is sleeping on - usually the TV, landing on the windowsill with a confused expression on her face.
We live in a 3 storey house, and she has fallen out of the top bedroom window more than once, you'd think she would have learned the first time!

Our other cat has been in the tumble drier (years ago as a kitten) I heard some strange thumps and yowls, took me a minute to figure out where he was.
