That does look like signs of scorch to me, but a number of factors can cause it, basically plants being in poor health.
Mine are in the greenhouse, and I spray them a few times a day in hot sun, with no sign of scorch.
Your plants look very leggy and weak, the leaves are also very pale. So the first thing is lack of good light. I would space them out a little, so the leaves are not touching and they get maximum light. The soil looks a little on the dry side, but it's hard to tell from a picture. They also might be lacking in nutrients, which would also cause pale leaves, so I would give them a drink of half strength feed. You do not want it too strong or it could burn the roots if the plants are weak.
Try to keep them cool on very hot days, as they are a bit weak, but try not to cut out the light too much.
The problem this year has been the poor spring with lower than average temperatures , so it seems many people are struggling this year with early toms.
MR TK
I have the same problem. My early toms are a little more leggy than last year when I got a really good crop. Now the leaves have developed the same problem as the ones in your pictures, Helly.
Mine are mainly the leaves at the base of the plants so I have removed most of them and plan to plant deep when I pot them on.
I will give a weak feed as Tomatoking suggests and monitior them closely.
Good luck, Helly.
Thanks thats great advice tomatoking, will space them out more and freshen up the compost also a very weak feed , thanks again will let you know how I get on
cheers Helly
