Thanks Shirl, I must ask about your avatar - love the horses, but did I miss something on Sunday?
Pony on the left has been my best friend for 30 years now -had him since the day he was born. One on the right is his little sister. Poor old lad isn't looking as well at the moment as he does in that picture though! Little lad 'on board' is my 11 year old younger son so obviously the pic was taken a few years ago. Hope your birthday was good
Just to say thanks for such lovely good wishes. I had a good day and really enjoyed the warmth I felt from friends.
Didn't over do the plonk last night, as the apple wine was only about 9%, but we had to stay up until it was 'himself's' b/day, so we did finish the bottle between us.
I was treated to a replacement Pratchett - Equal Rites - one of my faves which I haven't read for years, so spent most of the evening giggling and reading aloud the funny bits. I enjoyed myself anyway, even if Bubblewrap didn't listen much. His Pratchett education hasn't really started yet but I'm working on it!
btw Nick, I didn't have a cake, so not sure what the illumination was, maybe residue from Bubblewrap's Christmas sprouts??
Shirl, 30 years is a long time.... Hope he pulls through the cold and sees Spring at least one more time.

Hi Shirl,
I hope he picks up, I have had horses before but the longest about 12 years due to work. It must be hard to cope with when you have been together for so long.
I hope he feels better when the weather changes, Mandy
thanks DDL, my best present was a replacement Pratchett (see previous post) Never fails to make me laugh - I'd forgotten how much.
No1 Techie son is getting us an Indian meal at the weekend, and I had flowers and a lovely scarf knitted by my 87 year old aunty, which was very timely. Bubblewrap (bless his cottons) bought me (us) the Moon Gardening Book 2007, which is lovely, but SBP sent us one for 2006 just a couple of weeks ago, so if anyone wants that please pm me and I will pass it on for stamps. The calendar may be out of date, but the info is the same.

To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower
