  • Couldnt find the original thread

I think SBP did a thread about "why we live where we do." I've had a look but cant find it, but wanted to add this.
Been away for a fair while and was dreading coming home to the garden. It was sort of as bad as I thought it would be, although I noticed that at least half of my grass had been cut.
I assumed (I know, one never should) that it was my friends who look after my place but it wasnt.
Have just found out that its a young girl, mum of 3 kids, who, because she knew I was away, and like my garden, borrowed a ride on lawn mower from a friend of hers and cut at least 5000m sq of my grass, when her kids were with their dad.
When I asked her why, she said "parce qu'on t'aime bien" which means, "because we like you".
Thats yet another reason why I live in this fantastic place.

Very lovely - thats one of the reasons why we moved back into a village. We've only been here six weeks and already meet and visited with the next-door-neighbours, It doesn't seem very much, but we lived in our last place for 3.5 years and never once got a wave or smile, let along through the front door of 'them' next door.

                      Cor- how kind!!!!
Kindness can be quite confusing can't it when it comes from an unusual source? Some peeps are just plain kind.

Glutton, I dont know about laundry and ironing, and sadly she's too young and attached to ask about stuff.
I'm really not a lovely old sponge, I'm a proper old grump, but the young lady in question is just lovely.
I did ask her why she didnt cut it all though, and received a withering glance for my pains. Fortunately she knows me well enough to know I was joking.
