  • Skeleton Trek starts on Sunday.....

After months of planning, link flashing and plain old scrounging/begging for money we are off on Saturday morning! Heading to Whitley Bay where we will stay for the night and the walk begins proper Sunday morning.
We will walk from the B&B in Whitley Bay to the official start point at Segedunum Fort and on from there

All packed and have plenty of blister plasters, we are only about £500 shy of our target of £5000, so big big thanks to any Grapes who have sponsored us so far, the support we have had means a lot.

If any of you live near the wall, keep an eye out next Thurs for a bunch of idiots wearing neon tutus over their walking gear - that'll be us!! (the Gilsland - Carlisle leg of the journey)

Thanks again for the masses of advice and moral support that has been given on this forum, not only for the walk itself, but the sad events that made it so important to us all. You are all stars

Good luck Kirsty, hope the blisters stay away... It's a wonderful part of the world, I hope you have good weather to enjoy the marvellous scenery at its best. Neon tutu's eh, now that I would like to see - we will of course expect a photo or two!

              All the best.

We have reached our sponsorship target!!!!!!

                        wooohooooo!!!

We have kept an eye on things today throughout our journey north, and just as we reached Newcastle we found out our sponsorship had reached the magic £5000.

Huge thanks to all of you who have sponsored us and those who have promised to

It looks as though we will go way over as we have yet to have a memoral night for Brad at the end of May.

Day 2 has been fab even though we were caught in a brief hailstorm that came out of nowhere, but departed just as quickly!!

Really must keep our breaks shorter though, cos the coversation gets truly filthy when we do stop!!

Have been wearing tutu each day, cos Mikki made a comment aout a younger sister being supportive....and we have had many comments and toots from passing walkers/drivers etc. Also had people handing us donations too, people's generosity is overwhelming

Day off tomorrow to relax and give our blisters an airing! Going to visit Chesters Fort and walled garden.
