What a brilliant idea!! Well done!

I am sure I will use it loads and loads as it progresses. I dont think I have anything to add since I am new to all of this gardening malarky!

Although if the recipe idea comes off too maybe I could contribute to that.

I am sure there is more than one way to grow a lot of things, the beauty of a site like that is to get as much information as you want and then make your own decisions.... I guess...

      My thoughts precisely.
The problem at the moment is it's a lot of work getting any one vegetable article with enough information on it to be useful. I've got 44 pages created so far, but none of them is particularly helpful yet.
Plus most of the information is coming from text books and the internet at the moment which almost defeats the object, but hopefully when it has enough for people to use it will get over-written and I won't be quite such a plagarist!

What a brilliant idea, it's good to see you've been working the brain while the body has been resting.
I'm not sure I'm qualified to offer much advice but one day ........

yes I am sure it must be a mammoth task but it will evolve over time and be an excellent resource I am sure. I wish I could contribute something...but I know nuffin!

(PS hope wikipedia get wind of it when its hugely successful and then you can sell it and be rich like those folks who created facebook!!!)

Brilliant idea on your part Ollie. The effects of all that anaesthetic!!!! Seriously, it will be an excellent online "garden helper".
What about a section on COMPANION PLANTING. There are a few already on line but you have to jump from one to t'other. I eventually saved all the info as a word document and edited it when I found more and then printed it off and keep it in my seed box. A lot of it had already appeared here on the vine, perhaps you could- ahem- "borrow" it from here. After all, as you say, you are currently getting most info from the internet or books anyway.
Mind you, I saved it on my old computer and now have to find it to alter it!!!! so being able to go straight to a site like yours would be a bonus.
                Good Luck with it anyway.

It's on my list of things to do, along with pages on weeds, soil conditioners, garden tools, plant families etc.

Well I think I've just put together a definitive list of compostable ingredients, there used to be a pretty good thread on it here:
                      http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ost-bin-2.html
but it's been locked, I can only assume there was a better one somewhere else, but I can't find it.
Anyway, I've stolen all your great ideas, and sourced a few more from the net and put it together here:
                      Compost - WikiGardener Wiki

I'd really appreciate anyone's input on anything that you think has been missed or anything on there that you think's wrong.

                            Thank you.

It's taking longer than I thought to get anything useful on there. I've been at it almost every day since I put it up (even at work, but don't tell the boss), but have still only got about 6 articles I'd consider to have a good quantity of useful information in them.
Despite being a wiki no-one else is likely to add to it until it looks like a useful resource so I'm still plugging as much as possible into it and trying to avoid plagiarising!
Makes you wonder how Wikipedia got started.

Still, most of the structure is in place, and there's plenty of information on the NPK ratings of 30-odd soil conditioners.
