Just had a quick search on the situation in Argentina - and it has a lot to do with the amount they export for the income. However I did find a sensible piece of advice in amongst some more colourful (or should I say colorful) discussions about food shortages:
Write down exactly how much of each food your family needs for a week, then put aside a 6-12 month supply just in case. You’ll end up eating it anyway, just remember the two most important Rs of food stockpiling: Rotate and Restock.
