I hoard food too, but my daughters keep chucking it out telling me it's way past it's sell by date (so am I, so what does it matter). If it smells off then I throw it away - if not I eat it. They hate it when I cut the green bits of the cheese and eat the rest!!!

Me too. There is nothing wrong with cheese (I have even been known to eat the green bits just to prove the point, though I do normally cut it off) I dont even bother looking at best before dates these days because I trust my own judgement more than that of European Bureaucrat's.

It wont happen until 21st December so you should be ok, but I would opt for a GB holiday because the volcanic ash and BA strikes will still be going on then.
