I was so excited yesterday, me and OH were coming back from doing the weekly shop and just about to drive over the bridge that's at the bottom of the track up to the house, when OH sayd "There's an otter!!" so I abandoned the car, got out and lo and behold, not one but THREE otters, mum and two kitts, mooching around canny as you please! Loping about on the bank, surfing the strong river currents and weren't we both amazed when on loped across the bridge towards us then down the bank to the river again! Can't have been more than 5 metres away . Then both the kitts came up the bank, again really close to us, and down again the other side of the bridge! Wow! Best otter experience ever!!

Really jealous Birdie Wife, I'd love to see wild otters, we've been where they're supposed to be in Scotland & never seen any & also to a reserve in Wales where we think we saw some 'spraints' but no otters.Only ever seen them in captivity & they're gorgeous!
Alice-nice pics. of the birds- we get long tail tits but they never go on the feeders only flitter around in the trees chattering away to each other.Into every life a little rain must fall.

We used to have Slow Worms in our Sussex compost heap. Really miss them, I wonder why they don't like Suffolk?
We have Muntjac Deer on our allotments - scared the beejeezus out of me first time I saw one - like a rabbit on steroids it jumped right at me.All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

Great news about the otters Birdie Wife. I haven't seen any around the loch here this winter at all. Our big bird here at the moment is Greylag Geese. I counted about 90 this morning in the field by the house. More and more are staying the winter each year. They seemed to have scared the oystercatchers away, poor things.~
Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.
