Carol you need to move to somewhere warmer like newcastle :O).

I will not put the heating on its may!!! I'm just going to moan about it and maybe light a fire in the new fire place. just to see weather it works or not.
Just been and put cabbages back in the greenhouse and its nice and warm in there.

Might take up knitting so if anyone wants a jumper or two let me know.
Thinking about it a scarf might be easier.

Try putting barbados. If it doesn't make you feel warmer at least you'll get lots of friend requests.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

We had a flurry here too just after lunch but it only lasted 15 mins then gave up, thankfully. Still very cold though, -2 registered on the garden thermometer last night and I had to scrape the car this morning

I can remember my Dad, who has a small farm, telling me about a volcano that erupted somewhere during the 1970's, can't remember which I'm afraid, and that was followed by a year of horrible grimy weather where the yields were down and all the smashing stuff like potato blight was uncontrollable. I realise that this is only speculation, but I wonder if our Icelandic smoke belching friend might result in a pretty poor few months of weather at exactly the wrong time.

What a great time to be an allotment virgin!

Still, when I have nothing to show my mates down the pub for hours and hours of toil I can at least blame it on an act of God, rather than my horticultural cack handedness!

Surtsey? I don't remember it being a worse growing season though.

Too easy to blame God. We've all been telling you not to put your Voonerable Plants out tilll June!
