I have watched the Anglian blurb about replacement double glazing and have just proffered a polite no thanks to the cold caller. Do you think I should have listened to what he had to offer?

I'm like you Bren, I'm always polite to the callers, after all they're only doing their job (and not a job I would like to do). In answer to your question - do you want or need new double glazing? If not then you did the right thing. If you do then maybe you should have listened. However, I always ask callers to put their proposals in writing. Another tip I have been given is that if you are really fed up with these calls and the telephone preference service isn't blocking them then just put the phone on the table and walk away leaving them talking to themselves.

Nnnnnoooooooooo, don't allow a salesman in your home after they have cold called you (I seriously dislike cold-callers - ex-dir no and TPS registered still get the blighters). You cannot get rid of them, they superglue themselves to your sofa If you need double glazing you ask the companies you are interested in for a quote.
