So glad none of you were hurt but it must still be pretty upsetting (((HUGS)))
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Not only the house outside but the bits of the house affected INSIDE. And give the loss adjuster a copy.. and get him to sign a receipt.

Why? Because the shock may have damaged something and you get damp entry months later...
Seconded, and if the house is listed, or any similar complication, I hope the insurance company has always known about it, becase they can be $%%&^* about claims if they find out such things after the problem arises!

Is'nt your life busy enough without the coach company giving you something else to worry about.
Glad no one was hurt though.

Loss Adjuster has been and gone, armed with loads of photos and "witness statements" from two neighbours who saw it all happen. Canopy / what remains of canopy being taken down tomorrow morning. Estimates being worked on by slater and joiner (roughly £300 for slater), but will be very expensive for joiner as original wood is badly broken but was highly decorative and carved and I want as close to the original as is possible.
I did think we might have had a call from the coach company - silly me eh?

Although the canopy does protrude from the house, it has been there since 1853 and does not protrude as far as the kerb, so it shouldn't have happened this time, but as to whether or not it will happen again -who knows? The house is not listed though the one next door to us is but we are in a conservation area. Insurance company were informed of this when we changed our policy provider two years ago.

Thanks for all your messages - we're all fine - OH is a bit stressed, but I don't do stressed any more
