Have to say 'no' to the Chinese lantern - they are a menace to cattle when they land Bubbles are grand though, and any nature related bobbins - pond dipping, bug observation, bird books etc.
Can I just say a huge well done to you Sarz for all the organising you've done - it is going to be amazing, we're all very lucky.
The family Wayne have never been camping, so we're very excited/nervous and are just putting lists together of what we're bringing.
We'll be travelling up on Saturday morning, hoping to get there sometime around midday and we're staying until mid afternoon on Sunday (to get Bean back home ready for bed time).
Going to the butchers tomorrow to order meat, will bring some Pink Apple fir potatoes, courgettes, some courgette chutney from last year and a bottle of rhubarb schnapps. Along with standard "provisions" (bread, water etc).
Will bring our little baby barbecue for breakfast (we may well be up at the crack with Bean) so will bring along some charcoal too. Have a swingball we will also bring and a couple or frisbees/launchables.
I'll also bring along my iPod (just in case) and some spare seeds/books. On the books front, if there are any left over on the day we're there I am happy to take them with us and give them to my Mum (who runs a charity shop).
Really looking forward to it - even LadyWayne is excited (she was very apprehensive about the whole camping thing at first). I hope the weather is better than I had on Wednesday driving home from Ashford (sorry Becki, I was pushed for time).
Sarz - you're a proper star you are. Well done, and thank you.
Oh, and on the "live photo" front, I'll have my smart phone (smarter than me t'is), so providing I can get a decent connection, I'll happily take/upload the photo/s.
seconds HW .... i'm so proud of you for doing this after that one little convo last year, where you thought of the idea, but that you would never manage to do it ..... you are amazing ..... ps ... think i better go pack now xx
I've got the DAB loaded up with batteries so we can convert everyone to 6Music (Or listen to the cricket/football scores for those who can't live without it...)
Lynda, bins... Thank you! I've put black sacks in the box and will have a think about how to organise the recycling in the morning...
Loos are being delivered 'at lunchtime' so it might be Jez that picks you girls up from the station.
Sheets of ply are being brought up by my great mate tomorrow afternoon (to drive over the muddy bits without getting stuck).
Have 4 bags of charcoal, so hopefully we shouldn't run out, but the garage in the main village will have some if needs be.
No, he doesn't have the recycling stuff there, only a stoopid little bag for paper stuff (he's classed as 'too rural' I think), so it'll all have to go in seperate bins/bags/boxes and be taken to the tip. No biggy, I just need to find some suitable receptacles
