Today, is muppet.

As is usual - LadyWayne had gone to work, I'd got up and dressed, changed Bean, dressed Bean, fed Bean.

I had some spare time so figured I'd make the Rhubarb schnapps from the recipe found on these fine pages.

I put the Kilner jar in the steriliser, compiled my ingredients and waited.

The steriliser finished and I carefully (it was 'ot) took the jar out.

In went the cloves, in went the sugar and in went the cinnamon stick and then I poured in the litre of vodka.

Anything missing?

Yep. Clue's in the name - 'rhubarb schnapps'.

Coincidentally I'd dressed Bean in his Kermit the Frog t-shirt.

You could call it Rhubarb surprise schnapps.

I made rhubarb flapjacks tonight - I remembered the rhubarb, but I was nearly too busy eating curry to notice them getting a little bit burnt.

I managed to remember just in time and only scorched teh outer edges.

T'was on here somewhere. I just plugged "rhubarb reipes" into the marvellous search facility and there's a page with a load of recipes on.

To be honest, the flapjacks are a little soggy. Taste nice enough though.

Also made the rhubarb chutney from the same page this morning. I'm hoping that matures well - it's a little odd tasting at the moment.

There's a loooooovely shop on the way to somewhere I used to work (well, that narrows it down! LOL) that sells chunks of sponge with fruit on top. Sort of layered over before it was baked, so it nearly sunk in but not quite (If you can grasp that! ). They used to make a Rhubarb one - the sponge was sweet, but the Rhubarb was tangy - it was soooo yummy. Hopefully the whereabouts of the shop will come back to me.....

Can't say my word of the day in polite company but it is an expletive used when every time I pulled on a doc plant the bloomin thing broke off and I fell backwards!! Rhymes with Jackson Pollock!!
