  • Hi there - newbie here!

Alice found me loitering in the greenhouse section so I thought I'd come and say hello!

I live just across the river from Alice, on the south side of Glasgow. I'm a second season grower and have been a GYO subscriber for the past 8 months.

I'm (still) on the waiting list for my local lottie so have reconciled myself to another season in the back garden (and the neighbour's borders that I have basically nicked off her). As she's not at all interested in growing things, I think she's quite happy to have my carrot bath dumped over her side of the line !

I was amazed at how much I managed to grow last year, all with beginners luck. I hoping to carry some of that with me into this season.

We had a fantastic July last year, but would love gardening programmes (a la Carol Kleine) to show what it's like growing things in wet, heavy clay rather than nice crumbly perfect loam.

Thanks to Alice for the warm welcome and now I've dipped my toe in, no doubt I'll start to recognise the "regulars" and ask some ridiculous questions.

Catch up with my daily doings at http://kaypeesplot.blogspot.com/ and http://kaypeeslottie.blogspot.com/ but wait a while cos these are well out of date ! Don't want to ditch them entirely cos I'll never remember the urls !

Hi mrskp and welcome. Don't worry about the ridiculous questions, most of us ask those. Just watch out for the ridiculous answers which pop up on this madhouse. Most of all enjoy!
    Bright Blessings

Hi mrskp and welcome to the madhouse sometimes known as the vine!

You're a season ahead of us in experience, so I'm sure you'll be able to give us all a bit of advice aswell as asking questions, and dont worry, there's no such thing as a ridiculous question, as the only silly questions are the ones you dont ask fro fear of looking silly!

Anyhows, hope you enjoy the vine as much as the rest of us grapes!
      Blessings

Many thanks Earthbabe. Just had a gander at your profile. If I was closer, I'd definitely invite you round for tea ! I need more holistic and spiritual in my life (which is why I spend so much time in the garden.

Hi Mrs Dobby. I'll certainly chip in where I can. Talking of grapes, had bought a packet of sultantas to put in the birdies fatballs at the weekend. Ate most of the pack myself !

Hello again Mrskp, glad you decided to come and join us. Hope you enjoy the Vine as much as we do. We're all about pea sticks, love and understanding here You'll get that in time
If you're over on the south side you're not too far from me, especially now that there's no toll on the Erskine bridge. Look forward to your contributions.

I usually try and sneak in under the cover of darkness, but eagle eyed Alice spotted me.

It certainly feels nice and homely. Might have something to do with the "madhouse" reference that keeps popping up.

Pea sticks have always confused me ! but very much into love and understanding. I'd have to give the car a good wash before venturing to your patch Alice.

                      Hello mrskp,
Nice to meet you. I have to admit I didn't lurk at all, the first night I found this place I had so much to say, I just jumped in with both feet. Only problem is, once you're in, it's hard to get out - its so comfy here!!
                      Hope you enjoy yourself.
