  • Thermometer question

Every month GYO has a small section on what is being posted on this forum. The image shows a thermometer with scales in C and R. I presume the C scale is Centigrade or Celsius but what does the R stand for?

    Digger,

I reckon you've got Management by 'The Short & Curlies' there and my congratulations go out to you....

I like to think that these upmarket gardening magazines go 'all out' to set a 'spot the delibret mistook' every month, and normally, I'm pretty good at it, although being a newcomer to this particular magazine and forum, I haven't genned up on their 'strategy' big stylie yet.....

So I Doff my Hat to you Digger for this one well-spotted..... and I'm looking forward to Management's explanation (!), as I'm sure you are....

      Wellie

I don't think it's a mistake, if it is it's been in for a few months at least.

I hope some bright grape can come up with an answer, I don't like misteries.

It could be a typo as he F key is directly below the R key

I'm not sure! the image looks like a photograph. I don't have this month's GYO to hand but it's on page 7 of the Feb. mag. (bottom right corner).

                    Back to thermometers .......

I had a look at this and even more amazingly the "R" guage shows a zero temperature the same as "Centigrade" Asked my OH as he used to teach maths and physics and he has no idea what the "R" relates to or the temperature!

Interesting one Digger. Just shows how much we all just skim past!

I think it's for the Moon Gardeners when Regulus is in the ascendant.
