I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
Yup, I didn't follow it avidly, but Mr. G. did, and we watched the last episode together. I enjoyed it, and I think himself did too. Shame about the Quattro, but it was red so can't be too upset.

Back to the ending, me and OH were rather disappointed with it thought that it was a rushed and didn't explain everything. Have just read the link above to see if I was just being thick and missing something but it explained things just as I thought. Sounds like most of you thought it was good though so maybe I was just expecting something far cleverer and not just a rather trite and rushed ending to a disappointing series.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Would love to know how you would have ended it then?
What did you want explaining that was left out?
I was (as I think I said..?) a bit uncomfortable with the religious agenda, it was the same with the Lion The Witch & Wardrobe which was may favourite book as a kid.

I'm not sure how I'd have liked it to end but after all the hype about everything being explained I feel disappointed. They also introduced more things that didn't make sense, for example if Gene had been dead since the coronation how come he was very upto date with 70s and 80s England with real events being reflected (laughed a lot at the Blue Peter garden episode ). He'd have no knowledge of this and therefore his world could not reflect it. There were a few bits and pieces that have been said in the past which have now just been left as lose ends / totally ignored.
Also, the Railway Tavern, Gene went in there loads in the LoM days and then they all walked out without it acting as a portal. How come it's suddenly the gateway to heaven (although I've felt that about some pubs in the past!)?
I didn't like the religious thing either but more because I found Keates to be rather embarrassing as he was losing it (struck me as poor acting / direction) and like the writers were playing God with the viewers.
As I said, I was probably expecting too much but I hate it when things are majorly hyped up as they can rarely live up to such high expectations.
