I do need to resize- well I think I do- cos they're 3456x2592 pixels (3.8MB)
Before they reduced the permitted size I was able to post them. Couldn't do them after that.
Unless Picasa 2 resizes them automatically now?????

When you say 'copy image location'- what exactly do you mean???

Ok, resize, I just checked mine and they are 800x600 pixels, resized with Adobe photoshop and then uploaded to picasa.

What browser are you using? Firefox or Internet Explorer?

Ok, so with Firefox, right click on the picasa image and select View Image info. A new window opens and you should see the url address of the image highlighted. Right click on it to copy that address. Click on the insert image icon on the reply to thread and paste the address into the space given and click OK. Preview to make sure it worked.

But I need to resize first don't I????

No idea how to do it

            I can't understand the instructions!!!

            Boy do I feel thick!
Please feel free to throw a book at the wall and leave me to it!

( I did get as far as copying it before inserting it though- but it's still too big)

Nicos when you're in Picasa make sure you've got the photos you want to resize in the tray & click 'hold' (the green pin) so that they all stay there.
Then click on 'file' at the top of the page.
Next click on 'export picture to folder'.
Type in the name you want your folder to have (where the current name of the folder is highlighted in blue) eg. 'GYO Photos'.
click the box to resize, type in 500 for the pixels.
                Click 'export'.
The photos will then be in a folder called 'Picasa Exports' in where you keep all your photos eg. 'My Pictures'.
When you want to post the photo click the paperclip icon then 'Browse' & go into 'My Pictures' & scan through until you come to the file/folder called 'GYO Photos' & click on that to open it then click on the photo you want to upload.
You have to remember to look in Picasa exports or you end up looking in the file with the original size photos & wondering why they're all too big. Mine are all around the same size as yours so I have to resize everything. Anything wider than about 640 pixels is too big for most forums & causes that awful stretching across the screen where you can't see half the photo or writing.

Am I missing something here? I assumed you were using picasa web albums which is the web based software. Are you talking about software that you can use on your PC?

OK- I got as far as 'export'
Then 'The destination folder could not be created' warning came up again.

Capsid, yes I've downloaded Picasa 3 & it automatically picks up any photos I load onto my computer & that's where I resize them. I don't use the web albums, I just hold everything on my computer & external hard drive.

What does it say at the top of the 'Export' box it in 'Export location' should say something like-'My Pictures\Picasa Exports\GYO Photos (or whatever you typed in 'export folder name')?

I'm assuming that you've downloaded Picasa3 & that your computer is windows vista or similar which is what I use so I could be completely leading you astray as Capsid is doing it a different way!
Oops, just read your post after I typed this & you have Picasa2 but it should be the same.
