How many have we had now? I've only been a member since October last year, and I'm really enjoying the vine.

Would it be possible to publish a list of MOMs?

Good question Rustylady, was only thinking along the same lines earlier today.

When I first joined in September I think it was Earthbabe, followed by Dexter Dog, then Snadger, then me in December, then LJ in January and now Supersprout for February! I'm pretty sure that Nick the Grief has been a MOM, and also before that SueA, Jennie Atkinson, Shortie, Pigletwillie, Sewer Rat and AndewO.

Not quite sure what order or month each of them was MOM in, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be able to help there!

Perhaps we should have a 'Past MOM' icon on our profiles or something?
      Blessings

PMSL!!!! Me??? You gotta be joking!!

I'm definitely a learner gardener, this will be our first year GYOing for ourselves, I havent been involved with growing veg since helping my Dad and Nan in their gardens as a kid! But what both Mr D and I have is bags of enthusiasm and the will to produce the best crops that we can, so we've been hard at it (Oi, clearing the plots you mucky minded lot!) getting ourselves to a position to be ready to start growing seriously this year!

We've gone from getting our first (very overgrown) plot in September last year, to now having it almost completely sorted, complete with greenhouse (free) and have now taken on a second half plot, as we need the room to grow enough of everything we want to grow to become as self sufficient in veg as we can! My goal is not to have to buy any veg when we start harvesting, apart from maybe Mushrooms (tho we've a plan there too!)!

As to why I got awarded the honour of being Decembers MOM, I asked, and was told it was my enthusiasm that shone through, that plus the stirling work we'd done on our plot (take a look at the thread about our plot to see what we managed to get done in the 3 months before I got made a MOM http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ead.php?t=2681)

So, if I can do it, then so can anyone!
                  Blessings

Lol! I think we all feel a bit like that LJ, but you definitely deserved it! I know I felt it was soo unexpected and such a shock when I got it, I really didnt think I deserved it, especially not having that much info and advice to offer to others, but I have to say, after the shock wore off it was definitely a fun month!

And I am very grateful for it Nick, without all the wonderful advice on the vine from such knowledgeable and friendly grapes I wouldnt like to think of what mistakes we'd have made, and what ideas we'd have never found out about to make our growing lives easier! I know I'm going to be relying on the advice of other grapes for a very long time to come! Long may the vine flourish!
