Lots of places to visit but like shirl says dpends what you want while you are away. Devon is very nice and depending where you stay you have the moors to walk / climb or the seaside. Will you be staying in accomadation or camping. Wherever you choose to go have fun.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache

Do you class Northern Ireland as UK?There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

Okay then, I will promote Pembrokeshire, the only coastal National Park and the chance to visit the islands and see puffins, seals, dolphins and lots of stunning scenery. There are organised bird and wildlife watching holidays available if that is what you like. We also have loads of castles if that's what floats your boat.Happy Gardening,

how about a residantial course- say cooking or dry stone walling or handgliding or beekeeping.
I know they are always looking for volunteers in the Lake District for their environmental work.
...or are you looking for a quiet romantic amble about?"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Location....Normandy France

I've always enjoyed Lyme Regis- but then again I adore fossil hunting along the beach.
That's very calming- and free!
Perfect place to read 'The Frech Lieutenant's Woman' and do a long walk along the Undercliff- that's beautiful and wooded.
Lots of other touristy things to do and visit....,or not!
( mackerel line fishing there for a one-off is fun too!)"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Orkney, especially if you like history or birdwatching.
Far North of Scotland, (but take plenty of midge repellent) beautiful coastal scenery, a selection of sandy (but some are hard work to reach) beaches. Wildlife, wildflowers, historic bits... Can't recommend anything about towns (there aren't many, and what little I know of them, I suspect most town-for-holiday people would find them disappointing).Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
