I'm waiting to see my solitary bees. I think we have some mining bees somewhere. Or some red mason bees. I forget which they are I'll have to check the book again when they make an appearance.Bright Blessings

Lovely to see a blue tit house-hunting by the bird box next door this morning. I do hope they'll be ok, as next door (in their infinite wisdom) have the bird box mounted on the front of the shed just below the sun-trap of a roof where the cats love to sprawl.
I can't think of anything worse if I was a blue tit to look out the front door and see an upsidedown face of a grinning mog.....!
When I shoo the cats away, I also scare the birds...and next door are a bit odd so don't fancy suggesting that they move the bird box.
Good to see spring is on its way, though.

I hate the rain but we do desperately need it (not that we suffered from the hose-pipe ban, but even so).
Got 2 cheerful daffs flowering in the garden ad the snowdrops have been up for ages! Crocuses popping their heads up all over the place, and i think some bluebells to come too (not too sure - new house and they didn't flower last year because i'd disturbed them changing the beds, not sure what else the leaves could be though!!)
I have a pair of collared doves that i think are going to have babies near my garden - i saw them mating a week or so ago and they've hung around ever since
Lots of tits around too - mostly great tits and lots of other birds i don't know the names of (must keep the book by the window and not on the shelf!)There's vegetable growing in the family, but I must be adopted
Happy Gardening!
