I am 100% certain you will love the Karen Matheson album. If I can't have the MP4 player (had a feeling you might pull me up for that one) then my luxury item would have to be my gun.
Geordie - Ace of Spades was one of the albums that would have been on my MP4 player.

Rat, I seems good musical taste is a Northern thing!

Music, any album by Eva Cassidy, particularly the Songbird CD.

Piglet, Maria Callas had a voice of pure gristle. She screetched rather than sang. Anyone that thought she had a good voice can only have had van Gough's ear for music!!

The book I would go for is the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Might take a bit of reading, but would while away a few hours.

Luxury - has to be electricity.

Whilst she is not my favourite singer Valmarg, that piece of music, I personally like tremendously, whether my ears are Van Gough like or not.

            Great thread PW.

My music would have to be an 1976 album called Kate & Anna Mcgarrigle, and in particular a track called Talk To Me Of Mendocino, closely followed by Complainte Pour Ste Catherine, but in truth I love each and every song and the CD is in danger of getting worn out.

A book - well, this would be the Earth's children series by Jean M Auel which follows the story of an Ayla, an orphan girl taken in by a Neanderthal clan. I've read the first in the series, Clan of the Cave Bear, which was remarkable, and I have been wanting to read the rest for ages now, but they are all quite thick tomes, and a desert island would be just the chance to read right through without interruptions. Who knows, I might even pick up a few survival tips.

My luxury would be, hmmm, what would that be. Chocolate and lots of it!
All at once I hear your voice

                Lovely question piglet
                1. Music - Fields of Gold (Sting)
                2. Book - The Ashley Book of Knots - I'd enjoy making every single one, and could probably rig up a nice hammock after a month or two
                3. Luxury - giant pressure cooker

                  Hmmm,

its difficult to even begin to imagine having only one album, one book, one luxury...

                  1. Late for the Sky - Jackson Browne

                  2. Complete Works of Jane Austen (slightly cheating with 'complete works' if you ask me pw! )

                  3. The OH - cos I don't like dogs!

Good choice on the music front! I think I'm with you on that one. Not sure about the others at the moment.
