Just thought I'd share that with those yet to suffer the experience of using them.

On this occasion Sir, consider yourself well and truly Hurrrruuummmppphhheeeddddd!!
Secret Santa present sent last year from France to England. French postal system delivered precious cargo in 5 days to daughters house, a distance of well over 450 miles and crossing the channel.
Royal Mail lost same package with a distance of less than 30 miles to travel.
LizzyLemon sent me a stick, from Cambridgeshire borders to Hampshire, a car journey of well under 3 hours. Royal Mail took well over a fortnight (although LL, happy to report said stick is thriving).Bob Leponge

Keep going people - I'm feeling more and more vindicated.
Granted - they send a lot of stuff without issue, but that's the easy bit. It's the 'customer service' that's truly shocking.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

Got ranted at by he cantankerous old biddy in the Post Office, claiming that by paying for my postage 'on ebay' I was paying more (even though I'd used the RM website to pay/print the postage and the item being sent had nothing to do with ebay) than I would have by sending it via her - which was wrong she later discovered, then having the lady at RM (who took my 35 minutes to find/get through to) tell me that I should have asked for the correct paperwork at the post office when sending the item (recorded/signed for).
In short, both blaming me, the customer for doing things wrong, using their service.

Wayne...Don't get me started on the flipping Post Orifice Black Hole, don't forget it ate the first squash parcel, it STILL hasn't turned up...and that was recorded delivery as well, grrrrrrrrrr.
I've had recorded delivery shoved through my letter box...without having signed for it.
I've had the post man/women pull the recorded delivery sticker off and post it next door , Grrrrrrrrrr.Last edited by ginger ninger; 10-06-2010, 08:01 AM.

I bought a small package off ebay, was in when it was delivered so it went back to the sorting office.
I went online to apply for redelivery to me local post office for 50p (bearing in mind it's free to redeliver to my own address or a neighbours even though that probably takes as much effort)...
...it's gone up to £1.50!!!!!
That's more than the original postage!!!!!111eleven

Wayne:
LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BLADDY SQUASH PARCEL!!
I had to go into the local PO and deal with the old dragon who wouldnt accept it was them that lost it, she wouldnt give me a claim form (said I had to DL off the internet....problem No printer!!)
Then they lost two job applications I sent - one also by recorded delivery.
I have started going to a different PO, much further a way (not walkable) got a claim form without an inquision and none of my post (touch wood) has gone missing since.
I still have to try and sort out the claim for the squash parcel.
In other words:
NIGHTMARE!!

We have a PO near us, staffed by rude people - they don't get a lot of trade. However, my local PO is staffed by fab peps, who go out of their way to help - even when I go in with bits of Land Rovers to post to fellow eBayers.
I don't buy my postage on-line, as I was told that the PO gets a handling charge for parcels that are paid for over the counter, but not if the postage is bought on-line.Last edited by Glutton4...; 09-06-2010, 07:09 PM.All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

I am missing a parcel sent to me a couple of weeks back. Must go and bend the ears of our local PO staff (who are mostly pretty good, but.....) Then there are the letters delivered to the right number, in the wrong road....... We get plenty for other nearby roads. No idea how many of ours they get!Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
