    Hi everyone.
Thought I'd introduce myself! Joined today...(I don't know how I got here, through a link on another site but can't remember what one!) but I got totally engrossed over here

I'm from Newport, Isle of Wight....Anyone else from the Island?
I've just applied for an allotment but no idea as to how long I'll have to wait for one. Don't know much about gardening but with a bit of help from my Dad and you, hopefully i'll get there!

I made my first lot of wine last year with the abundance of blackberries (and jam for the first time), and also had a go at Wheat and Potato wine. Thought I might have a go at growing some stuff now.

(Opened the first bottle of blackberry wine last weekend ....Yet to try the W+P.)

Hi ironed - out!! I hope you really haven't been spending too much time ironing!!! you may find that in April when the yearly rent becomes due that some plots are given up so fingers crossed that you won't have too long to wait! Are you growing veg at home at the moment? I managed to do quite a lot in pots last year but this year I've got my allotment so its all on a bigger scale!!!
    smiling is infectious....

Hi Ironed out & welcome does it matter how you got here.
The grapevine is a good forum for advice (on gardening/ allotment issues) or general chit chat.

Hello Ironed Out and welcome to the Vine. Yes, there is another member from the IOW - I'm sure it's Zebedee. And there are quite a few Grapes who make wine. And everybody grows something in some kind of way so I'm sure you'll find plenty to interest you. What are you growing ?
