    we have an old fashioned fabric shop and I buy it by the metre from there

      I am not sure if they are only local to the north west but I use Abakhan Fabrics. I by it from them by weight from the off cuts section. I've got tons of it as I am going to be using it to make curtains plus wine making.

      Another name for "fabric/material shops" is haberdasheries. Check your yellow pages.

        I absolutely love Abakhan, so many bargains, especially in the off cut section. Made a work suit for myself for about a tenner - brilliant value

                any fabric which is not fluffy will do the job, white or undyed. i just use a piece old sheet or pillowcase which has been boiled. curtain lining, even an old net cutian would do!
