Hi, I'm going to use my, used srew top wine bottles for my elderflower Champs, apart from wahing them out with hot water is there anything else to do before I put the elderflower in .
cheers H
I wouldn't use glass bottles for elderflower champagne. I used old pop bottles last year and even they were under severe pressure
I might have made it too fizzy but I just thought I should add a word of caution.
thanks for the replies, I think I will go with the strong plastic bottles and every now and then release enough gas as other peeps say that you can see the plastic bottles expanding then its time to release some of the gas
cheers H
I use hot water then some Milton, rinse well and pop them in a hot oven to dry off.
Zazen, I really think you're using overkill. Wash out with hot soapy water, fine. Soak in Milton - you don't need to rinse or put in a hot oven. Just leave to drain. Back to the original thread, I would never consider putting elderflower fizz or ginger beer in glass bottles!!
